TIERED SURFACTANT TECHNOLOGY

As illustrated above, HyperKühl SuperCoolant is the only consumer automotive coolant additive available today that has roots in industrial water treatment, and offers “tiered surfactant” technology.

The HyperKühl formula includes ingredients known as "surfactants" that reduce the surface tension of coolant to enhance heat transfer. The temperature above which a surfactant ceases to provide “wetting,” or surface tension reduction, is it’s “cloud point.”

Tiered surfactant technology utilizes multiple surfactants, each having a unique cloud point, in order to achieve optimal heat transfer in a wide range of engine cylinder head temperatures.  HyperKühl is the only coolant additive that contains multiple surfactants, as all other coolant additives contain a single surfactant.

Each of the surfactants in HyperKühl has a cylinder head temperature range in which it provides optimal surface tension reduction performance. This includes one high cloud point surfactant that far exceeds the cloud point of the single surfactant in other competitive products.

The result:  More effective removal of heat from cylinder heads, which results in more horsepower, and lower overall stabilized operating temperatures.

Utilization of multiple surfactants provides HyperKühl SuperCoolant a wider range of cylinder head temperatures in which it can provide optimal performance.

Steady-state heat transfer analysis of cylinder heads reveals that a wide range of temperatures exist in and around the combustion chambers, as illustrated in the image to the right.

Using a coolant additive that contains a single surfactant is conceptually similar to using a straight weight engine oil. Optimal performance is limited to a much narrower temperature range. As illustrated to the right, different areas of a cylinder head have widely-varying temperatures. So it is important that a coolant additive have the ability to perform in a very broad range.

Due to it's unique tiered surfactant technology, HyperKühl indeed performs in a much wider range of temperatures than other, single surfactant coolant additives. This also allows the inclusion of an extreme high cloud point surfactant in the HyperKühl formula, providing temperature reduction at much higher cylinder head temperatures than other coolant additive products containing a single, “detergent grade,” low cloud point surfactant.

This is extremely important in racing -- especially in the later stages of a race when engine temperatures are very high, and you need as much transfer of heat away from engine cylinder heads as you can get.

How can tiered surfactant technology win races?
